Engineering Colleagues:

This Tuesday (2/7) CEER will lead a town hall type discussion of an important topic to all in engineering education: time to degree. On January 30, the Federal Register published a "Request for Information" from the Department of Education on this topic.

The Education Department is specifically asking for data on proven programs that help to shorten time to degree, postsecondary success, and successful transfer to postsecondary education.

The purpose of the town meeting style discussion is to share any experiences we collectively have, and to go further as well to brainstorm particularly the issue of time to degree. The desired result of the meeting is not a well formed consensus among us, but rather simply a sharing of ideas. CEER will summarize the meeting and post the summary to the CEER website. The information uncovered in the meeting will go into the mix of ideas that the College may use as a response to the Request for Information from the Department of Education.

We hope you will be able to join us in this discussion.

Best,
