Piazza is a web-based application that enables easy faculty/student interaction. Students can post questions that teaching staff can answer, all posted so that other students in the class can see the answer. Other functions include faculty posting polls for class participation, posting by faculty and TAs of announcements for the class, faculty posting homework problems or comments on the problems, and etc. A recent article in the business pages of the NY Times tells the story of the founder of Piazza, Pooja Nath.
